Not everyone can spend an hour a day working on their book or write tens of thousands of words a week. A creative life is the goal, but it may not be realistic for you to write a book a month. No matter what the internet tells you, you can publish a book even if it takes you months.
How do I know that it’s possible for you?
I’ve always worked full-time and have been a full-time mom for the last eleven years. And while the years have been busy, I have still managed to produce my best work during this time. I didn’t always get up at five in the morning to get pages before coffee. Some nights, I fell into bed without writing a word.
But I always returned to the page when I could.
It was a commitment. A sacrifice at times.
That’s what I’m asking you for: a commitment to yourself and a sacrifice that feels manageable.
My packages are based on a standard format that works for a lot of new writers. We start with a set number of words each month, delivered weekly.
The Basic Package (Full Price: $600 per month with a sliding scale for low-income writers1)
- Accountability for getting the words on the page
- In-line comments and coaching on 5,000 words a week (20,000 words a month)
- An hour-long coaching call every two weeks
- Access to email support and cheerleading when you need it
This is often a good starting point for writers who haven’t measured or tracked their word count to date. It’s also great for someone with commitments who can’t spend tons of time writing (yet).

- My rates are on a sliding fee scale based on the federal poverty line, with subsidies available to any writer making less than 250% of the FPL.
